Biography

I suppose, if you are here, you want to know a bit more about me. I was born in DuBois, PA and spent the first several years of my life unsuccessfully avoiding injury. By the age of twelve, I had broken each arm twice and a foot for good measure. But, I didn't really let that slow me down. I think it clearly showed my willingness to take risks...or that I was a complete clutz, depending on your perspective.

While I was born and raised in the heart of central PA, I have deep roots in the mountains of West Virginia. Growing up, I spent not only every major holiday, but also many summers visiting my family, walking the railroad tracks in Cass and fishing along the Greenbriar River and Leatherbark Creek with my cousin. With both folks calling Pocahontas County, WV "home", almost my entire extended family living (or buried) there, and a blood line that traces back to the Hatfield/McCoy feud, there is more than a little "hillbilly" blood running through these veins.

My love of theatre began in high school with a production of Godspell. In 1994, I headed off to Penn State University where I began my undergraduate career with aspirations of being a teacher. However, I couldn't seem to let go of the theatre and it wasn't long before I focused my studies on performance. I graduated from PSU with a B.A. in Theatre Arts in 1998.

After leaving PSU, I lived and worked as an actor in Pittsburgh, PA. I say that, but most of my income during that time came from being a bookseller at Barnes & Noble...a dangerous occupation for anyone who enjoys reading. In 2001, I headed southwest to pursue my M.F.A. at the University of Texas at Austin. After three years of hard work with a class comprised of some of the most talented folks on the planet, I graduated and migrated back north to New York City.

Since arriving in NYC, I have been performing improv with and am now the Assoc. Director of the National Comedy Theatre. Recent credits include: NBC's "30 Rock", Love Jerry at the New York Musical Theatre Festival, Puppy Love (webseries created by Sex in the City's Amy Harris, and the upcoming feature film When In Rome.

And I make a mean grilled cheese sandwich...which will no doubt come in handy someday.
